Arthritis Pain, Chronic pain or Nerve Pain...It's time to treat the root cause.

Reasons Why You May Be In Pain

Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress – the modern Western lifestyle and diet cause immeasurable damage to the nervous system and often this leads to pain.

Diabetes – Over time high levels of glucose in the blood can lead to damaged nerve cells. Diabetic nerve damage is primarily focused on the hands and feet (peripheral neuropathy).

Vitamin deficiencies – such as B-12, may cause the “pins and needles” sensation in the hands and feet. Vitamins that play crucial roles in the health and function of the nervous system need to be part of your diet or supplement routine to avoid nerve damage.

Poor diet – If you are consuming a diet filled with processed foods (anything in the middle of the store,) then you are not doing yourself any favors.

Poor sleep – If you are not giving your body and brain time to rejuvenate, you will have issues, especially with pain. Getting 8 hours is a must, even if you think you are ok with only 4.

To summarize, poor diet, prolonged inflammation, and more can contribute – but this means there are steps you can take to combat nerve pain.

"Nerve pain can also be caused or irritated by other lifestyle factors which include chronic inflammation, poor diet, poor sleep & oxidative stress.”

Dr. Meredith Warner, Orthopedic Surgeon

In this webinar hosted by Dr. Meredith Warner’s clinic, Warner Orthopedics & Wellness, Dr. Warner discussed everything you need to know about nerve pain.

Nerve pain, also called neuropathic pain, occurs when a health condition or injury impacts nerves that carry sensation to the brain.

It can also include numbness – which while is not necessarily painful, can lead to other complications. Typically, nerve “pain” can range from sharp pain, to nonstop “pins and needles” sensations.
